Susan Hardina
DIRECTOR - PRESIDENT
Susan is a Black Hills Road Trip of Hope co-founder and serves as board president. She is a wife, mom, and grandma, and has spent over 30 years in marketing and non-profit organizations. Susan was diagnosed with Stage 3 triple negative breast cancer in 2011. Joining the survivor community showed her that all warriors travel unique journeys and face so many different challenges. She is committed to finding ways to support all warriors on their road to health, healing, and peace.

Christina Farruggia
DIRECTOR - VICE PRESIDENT
Christina serves as one of the Black Hills Road Trip of Hope- co-founders and vice president. Christina is born and raised in South Dakota. She is a nurse, wife, and mother. Her two beautiful daughters are her motivation and support for volunteering on this and other breast cancer boards. Christina has served on local breast cancer boards since June of 2015. As a women’s imaging nurse at Dakota Radiology, she has a strong passion for early breast cancer detection and support. She wants to be able to offer hope and support to those diagnosed in our area.

Brad Curtis
DIRECTOR - TREASURER
Brad has a long history of volunteering his time for worthy causes. He has been on several Boards throughout his life and really enjoys being a part of Black Hills Road Trip of Hope with their focus on providing help to those brave breast cancer warriors dealing with a challenging time in their life’s journey. Brad grew up in Blunt, SD and spent most of his life in Pierre. He is married and has three daughters, so this cause is very near and dear to his heart! In his spare time, he enjoys riding his Harley, running back to the ranch every now and then to help out, and just being outside. Brad is a Senior Business Lender at Highmark Federal Credit Union and has been in the financial and banking industry since graduating from college.

Mary Stein
DIRECTOR - SECRETARY
Mary learned early that service is the price she pays for being human. As a breast cancer survivor, she feels passionate about joining this group of committed people as they strive to make a difference for breast cancer warriors in this area. The fact that all funds go to help individuals in need on their cancer journey helps Mary know she is in the right place, at the right time, on the right path. Mary works as a Grant Specialist for Avera’s Walking Forward program.

Holly Jones
DIRECTOR
After completing treatment for breast cancer, Holly wanted to be part of something that helped other warriors when they needed it most. Cancer is a difficult enough journey; financial worries only serve as a terrible distraction from the real battle. Holly is proud of what we do at Black Hills Road Trip of Hope to help remove barriers for patients so they can focus on completing their treatment plan. She is the Chief Administrative Officer for Black Hills Federal Credit Union.

Emily Hendry
DIRECTOR
Emily is fairly new to the Black Hills Road Trip of Hope Board of Directors. She is passionate about this organization and its mission. Emily is currently a breast cancer thriver. In January 2009, she was diagnosed with breast cancer while she was pregnant with her third child and had a new diagnosis of metastatic breast cancer in February 2022. She knows how devastating a cancer diagnosis and treatment can be and wants to bring hope and assistance to those who are in the same situation. She is the Vice President of Client Experience at Point Wealth Advisors.

Kelli Olmsted
DIRECTOR
Kelli Olmsted is new to the board of the Black Hills Road Trip of Hope. Starting this year, Kelli will help the board in fundraising campaigns to support the mission of assisting our breast cancer warriors in and around the Black Hills with providing education and financial assistance as they fight this battle. Kelli is very excited to be a part of this board and looks forward to what comes next. She is currently an Occupational Therapist at The Physical Therapy Center in Rapid City. Kelli has been an Occupational Therapist for almost 20 years and has primary worked in skilled nursing. She is very passionate about working with individuals to gain independence and quality in all aspects of their lives. Kelli is married to Bryan and has two children Blake and Kade who will both be in high school next year. When Kelli is not working, she is trying to keep up with these boys at the baseball field or golf course. Kelli loves to hike and spend time with friends and family all over the Black Hills often with her dog Kimber.

Lisa Gibbon
DIRECTOR
Lisa has been a nurse for 32 years and currently works for Monument Health as the Director of Patient and Family Education and the Director of Nurse Triage Call Center. She is passionate about helping patients and families get the best care possible while hoping for the best outcome. Many of her family, friends, and neighbors have been affected by breast cancer. Lisa has seen first-hand how this diagnosis impacts all aspects of their life, as well as the lives of their family and friends. Lisa believes in the mission and vision of Black Hills Road Trip of Hope and as a member of the board will actively participate to advance the care of all patients diagnosed with breast cancer.

Chris Weber
DIRECTOR
Chris is new to the board and shows great enthusiasm and investment regarding helping others with his community involvement. Cancer is an incredibly personal diagnosis and Chris is passionate to assist the board with providing not only financial assistance, but also promoting education and awareness of breast cancer. From multiple cancers found in his family, including breast, Chris is passionate about providing support any way he can to benefit our Breast Cancer Warriors. Chris is a Branch Manager at Black Hills Federal Credit Union.
